This\u00a0incredible piece of technology is capable of creating three-dimensional objects from digital\u00a0designs. It works by layering material on top of itself until the object is complete. The<br \/>\npossibilities of 3D printing are endless, and it has the potential to revolutionize the way we think\u00a0about manufacturing and engineering. Sunil working with the 3D printer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One student who has taken advantage of the Tinkerers Lab&#8217;s 3D printer is Sunil Jatav. Sunil is\u00a0passionate about engineering and manufacturing and spends much of his free time working on\u00a0various projects in the lab. His interest in 3D printing began when one of the lab assistants\u00a0introduced him to the technology. Fabrication of digital design using CAD software<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When Sunil\u2019s approached about his project, he eagerly shared his process. Sunil explained that\u00a0he had designed the part using CAD software and had loaded the design into the 3D printer. He\u00a0carefully monitored the printer as it created layer upon layer of plastic material, slowly building\u00a0the part from the ground up. It was time-consuming, but Sunil was determined to get it right.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.iitgn.ac.in\/digitalstudies\/2240-2\/as6\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2246\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2246 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.iitgn.ac.in\/digitalstudies\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/AS6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"881\" height=\"656\" srcset=\"http:\/\/sites.iitgn.ac.in\/digitalstudies\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/AS6.jpg 881w, http:\/\/sites.iitgn.ac.in\/digitalstudies\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/AS6-300x223.jpg 300w, http:\/\/sites.iitgn.ac.in\/digitalstudies\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/AS6-768x572.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 881px) 100vw, 881px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>Figure.6. 3D printing the part using the digital design<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sunil asked about motivation and why he had chosen to work on this particular project, and he\u00a0explained that he was frustrated with the way his current table scratched the floor every time he\u00a0moved it. He had considered purchasing a protective pad for the bottom of the table, but none of\u00a0the options was quite right. So, he decided to design and print his own solution.<\/p>\n<p>With the guidance of the lab assistant Jaydeep Kakadiya, Sunil made some adjustments to the\u00a0design and printed a new prototype. The final product perfectly fit his table and worked\u00a0flawlessly to protect his floors.<\/p>\n<p>Sunil was thrilled with the result and excited to continue experimenting with the 3D printer. He\u00a0had even started brainstorming other projects he could work on in the lab.
