the dual wanderers

In a span of 47 days, these two wanderers covered a total of 11,362 kilometers, covering 15 states and union territories. We began our journey on 1st May from Vadodara.  We reached Mumbai from Vadodara after a long 9-hour hectic bus journey. Although Google has left nothing unexplored in Mumbai but still we were able to have a glimpse of extremely fast and never tiring metro life. After Mumbai, we headed to Goa, the smallest state in India. Goa is generally mistaken only as a beach paradise, but this is not the case. It has a lot more to offer. The Konkani food was extremely good to taste. We also had rich egg-based multi-layered sweet dish known as “bebinca” which is a favorite at Christmas. It has a delicate hold over seafood. From Goa, we headed to Udupi. It was a surprise element for both of us.

The ace that this place bears is the ‘Malpe Beach’. It is extremely beautiful and is the cleanest beach we have encountered across India. We would say that it is one of the tourist friendly places. We went to many places in south-India, but unfortunately due Assembly Elections in Kerala & Tamil Nadu, and heavy rains we were not able to explore much. The core of Tamil culture reflects the built of this ancient city – Madurai. The center of attraction was the majestic Meenakshi Amman Temple and Thirumalai Nayyar Palace and Museum. The architectural beauty of Meenakshi Temple can’t be described in words. It is one of the best temples in India. The food was good with wide range of dosa and Pongal available.

Once we reached north-east India, we were spellbound by the greenery. Gangtok, the capital of God’s own paradise is extremely beautiful. The footfalls of Himalaya are just beautiful and vibrant. The shores of river Teesta take you up to the valley. Sikkim has a wonderful culture and very unique in every sense.

The fellowship gave long life imprints on our minds and hearts.
