Theme: Indian Architecture

States and Union territories covered: 10

Indian architecture is as old as the history of the civilization. So, we thought to explore this, we also wanted to know that whether architectural designs change with time. The theme was based on exploring and learning about the chaityas, temples, viharas, stupas, palaces, caves and bridges that have been build up by ancestors.  We started our journey from Jalgaon (in Maharashtra) and ended it in Delhi. During our exploration, we found that the distinctive architectural design in different parts was a result of historic, climatic, geographical, ethnic, racial and linguistic diversities. The rock cut structures present the utmost spectacular piece of primeval Indian art specimen. The great examples which we witnessed includes Ajanta and Ellora caves, Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral, ISKCON temple, Vittala temple, Vivekananda Memorial Rock, The Sun Temple at Konark, Victoria Memorial , Agra fort, Taj Mahal, Lotus temple. Each architectural specimen left us stunned and enthralled.  At Taj Mahal, we were astonished to see how tiny stones were carved and put together decoratively into large marble tiles. We got many experiences from this journey and learned new things. Roaming around looking for, water and accommodation, missing train and falling sick taught us to handle the difficult situations. No matter how much we struggled, we will always cherish those blissful and learning memories.
