dil chahta hai!

Our journey of EF 17 was more of an adventure trip rather than a peaceful journey. From all day bike rides in Pune to almost missed trains, from comfortable nights in hostel rooms to the hotel rooms with mere ventilation and mosquitoes, we got to learn a lot from our different life in these 43 days. The massive forts and their remote locations in Pune made us feel inferior and fortunate at the same time because of their engineering intelligence but remote hilltop locations. The constant fear about security in Jammu and Kashmir was overpowered by the heavenly beauty of the nature and warm gesture of some locals. From the beautiful hills and villages in Himachal pradesh to the crowded ghats of ganga in Haridwar we felt a peaceful l as well as a spiritual life. The beauty and welcome gesture of northeast and the hardships they face made us feel being much privileged but the clean places and respect for nature in their mind made us feel far inferior than them. The southern India which had always been untouched from us made us feel that pilgrimage and temples doesn’t need to be loud always. The roar of the sea and the view of rising sun from the sea made us doubt about the might of the human species. Fellowship let us to know that India is not just about the lavish life in the cities, also it’s not just about slums which is portrayed in western films, the idea and geography of india is much more. Our cultures varies , language varies , appearance also varies but our identities will always be same. The sleeper coaches in train and the difficulties we faced about seats and food , helped us to learn that how Indian railways teach us to adjust with the minimum and still give fake smile to the person sitting next to you. The mere bargaining skill we had , has reached to an almost perfection on this trip because we practiced it in almost every deal. The wonderful places we been to made us proud that apart from the sums and stinky streets we have our own Switzerland , Scotland and many more beautiful countries combined in our nation. The people we met made us realize that people are not that bad as we see them on social media and life is not about arguments only. The local cuisines we had was always with varieties and taste and we were sure that the idli we eat in the hostel mess is by a chef who is not good in his job. The hilly roads in the rain were so adventurous with sudden landslides and water ponds that we started regretting of wasting our money on roller coaster and the water sports. The beautiful nature , do we need to say more ? We have been to kashmir to north east and south EF is the best thing happened to us as it helped us in learning life skills at our own. After this journey we are sure that it’s not tough to live a live a life without much resources and facilities and still have fun. We are really thankful to our college authority and our parents to show trust into us and let us live this beautiful life of 43 days at our own.
