WHEREVER YOU GO BECOMES A PART OF YOU SOMEHOW

Anita Desai

We still remember the days when we were busy making the plan for our trip and deciding the places we want to explore. Now that we have ended this we are happy to realize that all our planning didn’t go in vain.  We were successful in making some beautiful and amazing memories which we can look back to. And while remembering these memories with a mild smile on our faces we can say WHAT A TRIP IT WAS…. .

We started off with our trip on 17th of May. The first place in our list was Mumbai. After Mumbai, Goa, Karnataka, Munnar, Kolkata, Sikkim, Darjeeling, Mathura, Haridwar, Nanital, Amritsar, and finally Rajasthan. The main purpose of the trip was to make us learn how to live with less, manage, and adjust in new environments. And we were mentally prepared to tackle any situation. This trip was full of experiences that we never thought of and the feel of these experiences was a completely new one and different. The feeling of travelling 3-4 km by foot with heavy bags on our backs, which we tried to make as much light as we can, the feeling of travelling for 48 hour in sleeper coach with no charging point, the feeling when a superfast express train gets delayed by 8 hours, the feeling of watching a live fight in a train, it was a furious one, the feeling of spending whole night on the quiet station of Kathgodam, all these were different and new to us. There were many more experiences like these, but the feeling of living in middle of clouds in Darjeeling, the feeling of being refreshed and amazed by the scenic beauty of Munnar, the feeling of being frightened by the deep waters of Dudhsagar Falls , the feeling of respect while standing in front of India Gate , and the proud feeling of living in the country of Maharana Pratap, all these feelings were beyond compare and incredible. These are the feelings which cannot be described in mere words but can only be felt when one goes to that palce. All these apart but the best feeling was reaching our destinations one after the other. After all this we ended our trip on 27th of June.

We tried to keep our itinerary a mixture of all terrains. Our journey ranged from crowded cities like Kolkata to quiet, simple towns like Kulem and Sultan-Bathery. During the initial phase of the trip we were a little afraid about how we are going to manage for 42 days. But soon, as we progressed on our plan the fear faded away. And the excitement of exploring new places took over it.

Last but not least we would like to thank our institute to give us such an great opportunity to make some beautiful memories while exploring our Golden Bird, India.
