During the time of fellowship, we learned a lot from our experiences, especially from bad ones. We would like to thank IIT-GN which provided this once in a lifetime opportunity to explore India and above all, to explore ourselves.

We started our journey on 7th of May. We covered a lot of places. In Amritsar, we visited Golden temple and Wagah border. Golden temple is really wonderful. In evening it shines like a star in the sky. Then we saw Wagah border ceremony, by the end of which we were filled with patriotic feeling. Energy in the stadium was fabulous. From Amritsar, we headed off to Manali. That was a very long distant and a tiring journey. Manali is crowned with beautiful mountains and habitat. There we went to Malana village, to where we trekked around 15 km as there was no transportation available at that time. When we were going to Malana, we were not expecting that we wouldn’t be able to return to Manali on the same day. It is situated on the top of a hill and no direct and simple way was available after 6 pm to reach Manali. So we stayed in Jari, near Malana. We reached Cherapunjee on 24th of May. Cherapunjee has beautiful natural scenes. We saw many viewpoints and waterfalls.  We also enjoyed the rainy atmosphere of Cherapunjee. Then the very next day we went to Mawlynnaong to explore the cleanest village in Asia. As expected it was indeed very clean. We were also amazed to see “Living Root bridge”. The list goes on.

This journey has given us new perspective and dimensions to look at things. It has taught us how to deal with rough situations. And we believe that it has made us a much stronger personality.
