Theme: Exploring the architectural style of different kingdoms/civilisations of india

States and Union territories covered:  10

One of the most enduring achievements of Indian civilization is undoubtedly its architecture. As a result of vast diversities, a vast range of architectural specimens have been evolved, retaining a certain amount of continuity across history. We visited different places where we found different types of palaces, caves, temples and other monuments. It includes Ajanta Ellora caves, Aga Khan Palace, Basilica of Bom Jessus (finest examples of Baroque architecture), Viceroy’s Arch (Portuguese’s conquest), underground Shiva temple in Karnataka, Hussain Sagar, Charminar, Chowmahalla, Golconda Fort in Hyderabad. We also visited Banaras Hindu university which is  Asia’s largest residential university. There we saw high amount of religious tourism and the vibes in the place during the Aarti were extremely holy. Furthermore, we explored Jama Masjid which was situated in Fatehpur Sikri, Rajasthan and built around a central courtyard with geometrical patterns. This represented the beauty and rechness of Mughal architecture. We also visited Hawa Mahal, a combination of rajput, mughal and islamic architecture. Along with these places we visited several other temples and places and learnt a lot about the Indian architecture.
