Theme: Regional sweets and Namkeens

States and Union territories covered: 10

India is known for unity in diversity. In India people worship several Gods and follow different cultures. As we head from north to south and west to east, culture living style and people’s likeness towards food varies. Also, Indian love to make and eat different kinds of sweets and namkeens on various occasions. So after hearing a lot of such stuff, we were keen to know why particular kind of sweet is preferred in particular region and how it originated. So we decided to explore the regional sweets and namkeens. We visited different cities in different states and tasted many delicious sweets and spicy namkeens like Amba Barfi, vadas, kadambari rolls, kesar barfi, golli baji, chakkulis, Mysore pak, kodbole, moong farsan, mishty doi, rasagulla, parathas, kulhad rabdi, lassi, momos etc. It had been a long but a very enriching journey. We found that the earlier selves of us who were a little unsure about this journey had changed. We were more confident and organised. It had shaped us in the manner that only academics could have never done. We are really grateful that we got this chance to take on such a wonderful journey.
