States and Union territories covered: 14

As decades passed by, human civilization in India underwent drastic changes. The activities of people changed to sources of income and their hobbies changed to businesses to increase trade. Aeons later, at the brink of the 21st century, these activities have diversified, becoming more effective and taking place at a large scale. This change seems quite intriguing and we wish to research more on this topic. We first visited Goa and there we saw the local fish market and enquired how the fishing industry works, followed by another local industry that is a source of income for the residents of the villages in goa, the “Feni” breweries. We then visited Munnar tea factory of south India followed by Pondicherry visit where French food industry forms the major source of livelihood for the Locals. The local livelihoods of Varanasi included some unique occupation of priesthood. In Lucknow, work of handicraft of Chikan cloth material is a source of livelihood to hundreds of local skilled workers and also the unique kebabs that originated here. In Dharamshala, a unique livelihood source for the locals is the production of jewellery made from semi-precious stones and  Tibetian cafes. The food industry of Indore is huge and a lot of people are dependent on this job to earn their daily wages. The main attraction for the foodies of Indore is the Sarafa.
