Theme: Rivers Nurturing India
Explorers Fellowship has been an amazing opportunity for the students of IIT Gandhinagar to explore our country. Frugal trip planning, sleeper class travels, state transport buses, youth hostels, homestays and Dharamshala, all these aspects of the fellowship, were indeed worth an experience.
Our theme, Rivers of India was based on exploring and learning about the civilisations and industries that have been set up in an around rivers and whose efficient working is possible only due to the presence of the magnanimous rivers of our country. We learned as to how the livelihoods of a vast number of people depend on them. Some experiences taught us how the river connects people with their emotional and spiritual importance. It also leads us to conclude that rivers over the centuries have made a historic impact on the lives and thinking of the people.
