Traventurers

Explorer Fellowship granted us some of the most memorable days in our life for which we were unable to find a perfect adjective to describe its nature. It was a blend of nostalgia, excitement, entertainment, fun, accomplishment, fear, joy in proper proportions. On the same footprints our journey started from Chittaurgarh, a beautiful hill fort in Rajasthan. We met there on the first day of journey with an unknown emptiness in our ruffled souls which we took away from our homes. We then moved to beguiling pink city Jaipur and experienced the royal culture of Rajasthan. We then went to Sawai Madhopur to test our luck to face a wild tiger in Ranthambore but unfortunately our luck was diddly in favour of us. We then left our footprints in Haridwar, Dehradun, Delhi and after a tiring journey through Uttar Pradesh and landed on the place where the word ‘natural beauty’ derived its real meaning. In Sikkim, a small but beautiful state, we stayed for three days to get thrilled by its mesmerizing natural beauty. We then propelled ourselves towards North East India. We stayed six days there and visited Assam and Meghalaya. Those six days stamped a permanent beautiful mark in our hearts. We were spell bounded to see the abode of clouds in Meghalaya. We then travelled through Konark, Puri, Bubhaneshwar to reach Vishakapatnam. Despite the resistance offered by our souls who urged to continue without any break, we had to go to Hyderabad where we took a break at my home. Satisfied with rest and of course homely food, we then headed to have some coconut derived cuisines. We saw the Portuguese culture in Cochi, spiritual environment of Trivandrum and the enthralling tea gardens of Munnar from ‘God’s own country’ Kerala. We then visited Banglore, Mysore and Hampi from Karnataka. It was in Hampi where we let our wandering souls out of our tired body. It was a false feeling that infringed our minds that the journey was over but we knew through our hearts that it was not. This journey of six weeks familiarized us the diversity of incredible India by allowing us to map across its length and breadth. In this six weeks we were privileged to have an opportunity to explore, to educate, to get educated and to enjoy. We visited a small region of Incredible India but developed much deeper insight into ourselves.
