Wayfarers Troop

We would like to thank IIT Gandhinagar for providing us with this opportunity to try out something which we have never done in our life. The learning cannot be described in words

One of the most beautiful experiences of our life. We had our bags packed, itinerary prepared, trains, hostels and hotels booked, a plan for everyday in each of the places we were to visit, little did we know of the so many unexpected, thrilling and draining events that lay ahead of us. Here is a small attempt to talk about as many possible interesting and boring situations which we went through in our six-week long expedition.

Unlike all the other teams, we were the ones who started our journey in mid – June, by the time monsoon had engulfed almost three-fourths of India. On the last day, we all had mixed emotions. We were really excited to meet our family and friends, tell them the numerous stories and experiences that we had during these six weeks which felt like an eternity, yet somewhere inside we were sad; sad that this was ending, sad that there would be no more aimless wandering; sad that we don’t have to search, plan and book anymore, sad that we won’t be waking up with the same excitement and vigour every morning but more importantly sad because something for which we had been planning since the last two months was ending. We know that we didn’t do everything that we had planned to do or see but I know for sure that those countless unexpected pleasant and unpleasant surprises have changed us in many ways and will stay with us forever.
