Viraj Amar demonstrates the tenets of Hindustani classical music with her rendition of the Hindustani khayyalin RaagBhimpalasi. In Hindustani classical music every melody makes use of a Raag which is not only a basic pattern of pitches, it is also the expressive force at the heart of any composition. A Raag expresses feelings and captures moods, and is categorized according to its appropriateness for the time of the day.
