Guidelines

Our campus precautionary measures include:

  • We have prepared several facilities to help isolate, monitor, and quarantine, if need be, any individuals based on symptoms and/or risk factors.
  • A number of social distancing measures including minimizing high-touch contact points (such as biometric systems)  are being undertaken including in the library and mess. We urge you to consider taking any further precautions at your individual levels such as avoiding elevators.
  • Community members experiencing any symptoms such as cough, cold or fever are expected to report to the medical centre or control room for routine screening.
  • At any of the eateries, a maximum group size of four will be permitted henceforth. Any group size larger than four would be treated as a violation of social distancing norms.
  • In case of positive cases, please cooperate with the authorities with contact tracing and related information. Withholding information or providing misleading information is an offence.
  • Students are encouraged to carry their mess meals to their respective hostel rooms.
  • In case of any symptoms contact dispensary: +91 7923951116

Anyone who visits the campus(non-hostel residents) is prohibited from entering the student hostel area and the mess facilities.

For community members who have been advised self-quarantine, you are expected to follow the instructions below:

  • Each individual will receive a plate from the mess that they have to wash and reuse for the entire duration of the quarantine. The mess will have a counter in the hostels where the individual can go and collect the food. Each individual is advised to have the meal in their own rooms and avoid having any contact with other individuals.
  • Please do not go to the academic area or any research labs.
  • Please do not move around campus. If you need fresh air, you may step out of your room and take a short walk within your wing as long as you are alone and maintain at least a 6 ft distance from others.
  • Please receive calls from the crisis group and control room.
  • You will need final clearance from the medical centre after completion of the self-isolation period.
  • We request you to cooperate to keep our campus safe. Please note that non-cooperation with these measures may put others at risk and will be treated as an offence.

We are constantly monitoring the situation inside the campus and precautionary measures are put in place in case of an emergency.

About Us

At IIT Gandhinagar, considering the coordination needs for activities related to prevention, precautionary measures, isolation, and quarantine, a fully student-run Control Room has been created and has been running 24 X 7 for the past few days. This Control Room will facilitate communication between the student body and the institute authorities with regard to all matters concerning the disease outbreak, and is also following on a daily basis all students on campus who have had recent travel history. We encourage the student on campus to contact the Control Room immediately, in case they are facing any difficulties in the present scenario. Any queries or concerns relating to the Covid-19 outbreak will be addressed by the volunteers at the Control Room and be conveyed to the institute authorities (when appropriate) without delay.
