Travelling is always a great way to find a new version of you within you whom you never met before in your life. It leaves you speechless, and turns you into a storyteller. While travelling, the beauty around you completely overtakes this technical world and you forget all your stress and worries. It makes you to see the world with a different perspective which you have never imagined.

This summer we got the opportunity to explore India in just 42 days, which appears to be very fatiguing and nuisance, but believe me or not it made our summers full of joy, thrill and excitement. Our journey included 12 states mostly across the circumference of India and a travel of about 13000 kilometers.

Having our rucksacks ready, we started from magnanimous Delhi: where everybody is a VIP to the snow covered mountains of Manali…from the religious and holy sites of Uttarakhand to the stunning and smiling faces of Sikkim…from the abode of clouds in Meghalaya to the sweetest part of India(Kolkata)…from the mesmerizing beaches and temples of Orissa to the southernmost part of our country…from the backwaters in alleppey to the lovely tea gardens of Munnar. And finally this amazing trip ended in goa which is the most awaited place for us.

It was not an easy journey for us. Moving out of our comfort zone, six weeks no home food, continuous travel, time management, limited budget and continuous changing weather were the hurdles in our path but they were not able to overcome our joy and excitement. Time passed and we kept on exploring.

In these six weeks we felt like students and explorers fellowship was like a teacher for us which taught us time management, budget management, negotiation skills, traveling in extreme weather and lots more, which we cannot learn by studying in any renowned institute of the world. It helped us to experience the beauty of nature and the beauty of culture of our motherland. The best part of the program was that it gave us the confidence to explore and interact with the diverse people of our diverse country.

It taught us to believe on each other, respect other’s opinion and have faith on others. It made us confident persons and above all better human beings. Sleeping in dharamshala’s and sometimes on stations created memories that we will cherish forever.

We never imagined of exploring India in such a short period but thanks to IIT Gandhinagar which gave us this wonderful opportunity and we feel proud to be a part of such an institute.

Thanking you
