Train and Air travel Information
Here are a few things that might be helpful during your visit to IITGN:
- We are currently located on our permanent campus in Gandhinagar. However, it is to be noted that our old campus (where we were operating from in the past few years) is located in Ahmedabad city. We have an hourly shuttle service running from the old campus to permanent campus. Therefore, anybody reaching Ahmedabad by bus or train, it would be most convenient to reach our old campus at VGEC College, Chandkheda and then take the shuttle from there to the permanent campus. However, Ahmedabad airport is nearer to our permanent campus so anybody reaching Ahmedabad airport by flight, it is convenient to hire cab and directly come to the permanent campus.
Some travel tips:
- If you are arriving in by flight, take a pre-paid taxi from the airport to IITGN, Palaj. The cost of the pre-paid taxi would be between Rs.150- Rs.250.
- If you are arriving via train, from (Kalupur or Ahmedabad Junction) railway station, you can come to VGEC college using any of the following options:
- Take BRTS bus no. 7 from outside railway station itself up to VGEC College (Rs. 20).
- Take AMTS Bus no. 89/3 from outside railway station up to Visat junction (Rs. 11) and from there take an auto to VGEC college (Rs. 5-10).
- Take a shared auto from outside railway station upto Visat Junction (Rs. 20) and from there take an auto to VGEC college (Rs. 5-10).
- Take a private auto outside railway station to VGEC college Chandkheda (Rs. 100-150).
- If you are arriving via Bus, then
- From Geeta Mandir Bus Station (ST bus stop), take BRTS from Geeta Mandir bus no. 7 upto VGEC College (Rs. 20-30).
- From Vishalla Stop (if you are coming by private bus service), take shared or private auto from Vishala stop to Narol BRTS bus stop (Rs. 20-30). Then take BRTS bus no. 7 to VGEC College (Rs. 25-30).
The shuttle schedule is as follows:
From Chandkheda (VGEC College) to Permanent Campus: 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM, 7:30 PM, 10:15 PM.
From Permanent Campus To Chandkheda (VGEC College): 8:15 AM, 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:15 PM, 6:45 PM, 8:30 PM.
The State Transport(ST) schedule is as follows:
From Paldi to Permanent Campus: 8:20 AM, 11:40 AM, 03:15 PM.
From Permanent Campus To Paldi: 9:45 AM, 1:15 PM, 5:00 PM.
