Aarambh

Aarambh is the intramural Staff Sports Competition, featuring a variety of fun sports and activities that cater to all interests and skill levels.

Aarambh, meaning ‘beginning’ in Sanskrit, symbolizes the initiation of a new era in our organization: of team bonding and fitness. IITGN believes that fostering a sense of unity and well-being among the employees improves the workplace environment and contributes to individual growth and happiness.

The inaugural edition of Aarambh was organized from 24-28 February 2025, and the second edition was organized from 04-08 March 2025.

The Mascot of Aarambh, KAI, is inspired by the State Bird of Gujarat, the Greater Flamingo. Kai translates into the ‘sea’ in Hawaiian. It is a flamingo with a striking appearance, great social behaviour, and synchronized group dynamics. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it can quickly adapt to a changing and challenging environment and come out on top, unscathed.

Aarambh’24 featured a variety of fun games and activities like Treasure Hunt, Gully Cricket, 3×3 Basketball, Dodgeball, Futsal, Seven Stones, Doubles/Mixed Doubles- Badminton, and the crowd favourite, Tug of War, which decides the Overall Champion. Team Shooting Stars, led by Mr. Mangesh Karade, became the Overall Champion.
