Roop Rekha Verma: Roop Rekha Verma is a philosopher, writer and a social activist. She was the former Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University, where she also taught for more than three decades. Verma has published widely in the area of Philosophical Logic and Epistemology, Social Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind and Metaphysics. As a social activist  associated with Saajhi Duniya, Prof. Verma has intervened in cases of inter-religious violence and also violence against  women.  She has been awarded with the Begum Hazrat Mahal Award for communal harmony and Life Time Achievement Award in 2006 by Indian Social Science Association.
K. J. Alphons Kannanthanam: Alphons worked as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer until 2006, when he became an elected member of the Legislative Assembly of Kerala. He has been a voice for progressive change in the Assembly and won the best Member of Legislative Assembly award in 2009. As District Collector, Kottayam, he pioneered the literacy movement in India, by making Kottayam Town the first 100% literate town in India in 1989. He did feature among TIME Magazine’s list of 100 young global leaders in 1994 during his tenure as a Commission of Delhi Development Authority. He wrote the bestselling book titled “Making a Difference", published by Penguin India, in 1996. Currently he is National Executive Member of Bharatiaya Janata Party (BJP). He is also a practicing advocate in the High court and the Supreme Court of India.
Neelkanth Chhaya: Architect, academician, and thinker, Neelkanth Chhaya heads the department of architecture at CEPT (Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology) in Ahmedabad. Prof. Chhaya has researched and worked extensively in the domain of appropriate architecture for India. He has extensively documented places of historic significance and authored numerous critical papers on the same. His design for the Centre of Environment Education is one of the most significant examples of sustainable design. He recently collaborated with Hunnarshala to build cost-effective crafts centre in Kuchch, Gujarat. He has great investment in teaching architecture and his practice is a reflection of his intense involvement with the school. Prof Chhaya studied architecture from CEPT and has been associated with the Masters Program for Architects in Developing Nations in Helsinki.
Santosh Desai: Santosh Desai is MD and CEO of Future Brands. Prior to this he was president of McKann- Erickson, one of India’s premier advertising agencies. A post graduate from IIM Ahmedabad, Santish has spent twenty one years in the advertising world strategically building local and multinational brands. He is interested in the relationship between culture and brands and, in this context, has extensively commented on contemporary society in India. His book Mother Pious Lady: Making Sense of Everyday India was recently published by Harper Collins, India.
Sandeep Pandey: Sandeep Pandey is a social activist and co-founded Asha for Education with Dr. Deepak Gupta (presently Professor at IIT Kanpur) and V.J.P Srivastava while at the University of California, Berkeley. His work at Asha Parivar is focused on Right to Information and other forms of citizen participation in removing corruption and improving the efficiency of governance. He leads the National Alliance of People's Movements (NAPM), the largest network of grassroots people's movements in India. A Ramon Magsaysay awardee for emergent leadership in 2002, Dr. Pandey is currently a Visiting Professor at IIT Gandhinagar.
Meera Goradia: Meera Goradia is Director at KHAMIR and works with a wide range of craft artisans in Kuchch. KHAMIR works to reposition craft and folk music in Kuchch and to revitalize Kuchch's creative industries.Instituted after the 2001 earthquake, it is a platform for the crafts, culture, heritage and ecology of the Kuchch region of Gujarat. Meera has worked in various forums (NGOs and commercial bodies) to promote and sustain the interests of these groups. An alumni of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Ms Goradia is focused on developing KHAMIR as an institution of craft and heritage sustenance.
Aditya Handa: Aditya Handa is the founding promoter of the Abellon group that comprise initiatives in the areas of clean energy, agri-sciences, high end genomics research and education. He started his career in his family business, Claris Lifesciences Limited. His years with Claris stirred an interest in making businesses sustainability oriented. It is this interest combined with his entrepreneurial zeal that led to the establishment of the Abellon Group. Mr. Handa has a degree in commerce and an MBA from Babson College, U.S.A
Michel Danino: Born in France , Michel Danino has lived in India since the age of twenty-one, studying Indian civilization and culture. He has authored books in French and English, lectured widely and contributed studies to aspects of Indian archaeology. In the 1980s and 1990s, Michel Danino worked for the protection of a Shola forest in the Nilgiris, and this has led to the creation of Tamil Nadu’s  first joint forest management group. Some of his books include Sri Aurobindo and Indian Civilization (1999),The Invasion that Never Was (2000), and The Lost River - On the trail of the Sarasvati (2010). Currently, he is Visiting Professor at IIT Gandhinagar.
A F Mathew: A F Mathew teaches at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. His research interests include cultural studies, sociology, media studies and film history. Prior to this, he taught Communication and Media studies at MICA. He has a number of articles on caste, globalization, issues of media coverage, civil liberty and human rights, among others, to his credit. Dr. Mathew has a PhD from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
Amruta Patil: Amruta Patil  is a writer and a painter. She made her debut in 2008 with Kari (HarperCollins) and has just completed her second graphic novel Adi Parva (HarperCollins, October 2012) which is part of a trilogy based on the mytho-historical epic, the Mahabharat. Amruta, who identifies primarily as a writer, has a freewheeling visual style that spans charcoal illustration, acrylic painting, collage and manually-retouched photos. In 2009, Amruta was selected for the artist-in-residence programme at La Maison des Auteurs (Angoulême, France). This incubation period marked the beginning of her experimentation with style, medium, and narrative technique – much of which she tests in the short graphic story format. Amruta is the co-founder/editor of Mindfields – a quarterly print magazine about alternative education.
Nirali Kartik: Born in Ahmedabad, India, Nirali Kartik was put to learn Indian Classical Vocal at the age of nine at Saptak School of Music. Nirali stands as a unique ambassador of India's venerable musical legacy. She belongs to the MewatiGharana that is synonymous with Sangeet Martand Padma Vibhushan Pt. Jasrajji. Her style of singing has made her the voice of several award winning short films and documentaries. She has received many prestigious awards including the 'ShresthaSadhak' award by Gujarat RajyaSangeetNatak. Apart from a Masters degree in psychology, Nirali has been a diligent student of Yoga.
  Avni Varia: Hailing from a traditional potters’ family in Gujarat, India, Avni Varia admires the great culture of her country and its legacy of arts and crafts. She has over 12 years of extensive experience teaching and managing art, craft and design projects. She is keenly interested in using her extensive management skills and knowledge to enhance the status of traditional craftspeople and artisans. In 2011 she received an MA in Arts and Heritage Management from London Metropolitan University.
Parmesh Shahani: Parmesh Shahani works on innovation at Godrej Industries, one of India's large business conglomerates. In addition to this, he serves as Editor-at-Large for Verve magazine, India, and he is also affiliated with MIT's C3consortium - now the Futures of Entertainment Conference, as a Futures of Entertainment Fellow. He is a TED Fellow and has often presented on different aspects of creative and corporate India. His first book, Gay Bombay: Globalization, Love and (Be) Longing in Contemporary India (New Delhi, London, Los Angeles, Singapore: Sage Publications) released in April 2008.
Rita Kothari: Rita Kothari is an author, translator and academic. Her research and pedagogy span across literature, sociology and culture studies. Her books include  Translating India: The Cultural Politics of EnglishThe Burden of Refuge: Sindh, Gujarat, Partition, and Memories and Movements: Borders and Communities in Banni, Kutch, GujaratAngaliyat: The Stepchild, Unbordered Memories: Partition Stories from Sindh. She is also the translator of Speech and Silence: Literary Journeys by Gujarati Women, and  co-translator of Modern Gujarati Poetry: A Selection, and Coral Island: The Poetry of Niranjan Bhagat. She has co-edited Decentering Translation Studies: India and Beyond, and Chutnefying English: The Phenomenon of Hinglish. She is with the Humanities and Social Sciences Department, IIT Gandhinagar.
Srinivas Reddy: Srinivas Reddy is a professional concert sitarist and has given numerous recitals in the US and India. He has three albums to his credit: GITA (1999), Sitar & Tabla (2001) and Hemant & Jog (2008). In 2011 Srinivas graduated from UC Berkeley with a PhD in South and Southeast Asian Studies. Under the guidance of Professor George Hart he studied Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu literary traditions and completed his thesis on the Vijayanagar emperor Krishnadevaraya and his grand Telugu epic Amuktamalyada. A translation of the work entitled Giver of the Worn Garland has recently been published by Penguin Books. Srinivas is currently Assistant Professor of South and Southeast Asian Studies at IIT Gandhinagar.
Mona Mehta: Mona Mehta is a political scientist and teaches at IIT Gandhinagar. Her research interests include democracy, civil society, identity politics in India, and Gandhi. She co-edited with Nalin Mehta Gujarat Beyond Gandhi: Identity, Conflict and Society (2011). She finished her PhD in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
Bhaskar Datta: An alumnus of IIT Kanpur, Bhaskar Dutta’s research interests include the investigation of groove-modified nucleobases on Y-family DNA polymerase activity, construction of metal nanowires based on biomolecular templates, and the stucture-function correlations of unorthodox DNA structures. He finished his PhD from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh in 2004 and has a patent for an Aptamer-based device for detection of cancer markers and methods of use (2012) to his credit. Currently he is with IIT Gandhinagar.
Malavika Subramanyam: Malavika Subramanyam has been teaching dance inspired by Hindi movies (Bollywood Dance) for over 20 years in India and the US. What started as a hobby took on a life of its own when she was approached by several persons to choreograph and teach. Her day job as a social epidemiologist took her to Greeley, CO, Boston MA and Ann Arbor MI, where she continued to teach dancing. Malavika holds a PhD in Social Epidemiology from Harvard University and is currently an Assistant Professor at IIT Gandhinagar.
Jaison A. Manjaly: Jaison is a philosopher with an abiding interest in mind and consciousness. He has worked on Indian philosophical traditions especially on the concept of panpsychism. He holds a PhD in Philosophy from IIT Kharagpur. He is currently the Dean, Student Affairs at IITGN.
Pooja Thomas: Pooja Thomas is a Doctoral student with the HSS Department under the supervision of Dr. Rita Kothari at IIT Gandhinagar. She is interested in the uses of heritage in the representation of the city of Ahmedabad and is in the initial stages of her doctoral research.Her research interests also include visual art and gender studies. A fledgling poet, she has some published poetry to her credit. As Assistant Professor at St. Stephen's College and Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi, she has taught English Literature to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
