Executive Masters in Computational Fluid Dynamics
IIT Gandhinagar is launching the online Executive Masters program in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to address a critical gap in advanced technical training for professionals across India’s rapidly evolving industries. As sectors like aerospace, automotive, energy, and electronics increasingly rely on high-fidelity simulations to solve complex fluid flow, heat transfer, and multiphase interaction problems, there is a pressing need for engineers who are proficient in both the theoretical foundations and practical application of CFD tools and methodologies. Traditionally, access to such specialized education has been limited by geographical, professional, and time constraints, making it difficult for working professionals to upskill without career interruptions.
By offering this program in a flexible, executive-friendly online format-with live interactive sessions, self-paced modules, and short on-campus residencies-IIT Gandhinagar enables professionals nationwide to acquire cutting-edge CFD expertise while continuing their employment. This approach not only democratizes access to world-class training but also directly addresses industry pain points such as the shortage of skilled simulation engineers, the need for rapid innovation cycles, and the integration of advanced computational methods in design and manufacturing workflows. Program structure
The Executive Masters degree program structure is as below:
Program Duration: 2 years
Number of Credits: 52 credits
Modules: There are six modules in the program.
Module Duration: Each module lasts for 12-14 weeks.
Eligibility
A minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA/CPI (on a 10-point scale) in a 4-year BE/BTech degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Fire Technology & Safety Engineering or Civil Engineering.
