e-Masters in Energy Policy and Regulation
Energy Policy and Regulation is of critical importance in shaping the welfare of the economies and society of any country. The objective of Regulatory policy is to ensure that Regulation works effectively, and efficiently and must be in the public interest. India’s National Electricity Policy aims for reliable, affordable, and environmentally sound electricity for all. Therefore, to achieve our objective, there is a need for a sound and robust Regulatory framework in India. Regulatory policy is a comparatively young discipline in India and there is growing interest in using regulatory policy to address broad societal concerns such as distributional equity and sustainable development. Similarly, the requirement of Regulatory Professionals, at all levels, is of utmost importance in the present time of energy transitions.
IIT Gandhinagar will soon begin accepting applications for the e-Masters program in Energy Policy and Regulation (EPR), starting in the summer of 2025.
Program structure
The e-Masters degree program structure is as below:
Program Duration: 2 years
Number of Credits: 52 credits
Modules: There are six modules in the program.
Module Duration: Each module lasts for 12 to 14 weeks.

Eligibility
- Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline (Engineering/Economics/Law/ Commerce/Management/Finance, etc.) with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.0 (on a 10-point scale)
- No GATE qualification required
