Executive Masters in Energy Sustainability
“Energy Sustainability and Net Zero: The Future of Energy Opportunities.”
If India is to grow sustainably, it must confront and address the simultaneous challenges of global warming, energy security and the need for rapid economic growth. While the growth trajectory of renewables in the Indian energy mix has been admirable, a large workforce of knowledgeable and skilled engineers is required to address these challenges in the years ahead. While many institutions offer advanced degrees in mechanical, chemical and electrical engineering, this program recognizes that energy is a multidisciplinary field and addresses questions from a holistic perspective. It trains engineers to think globally, while acting locally. It provides the background skills, knowledge and perspective to tackle complex problems in energy conversion, energy storage and energy usage. It also brings in a fresh perspective on the new emerging technologies such as solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, nuclear and hydrogen energy. It is designed both as a finishing school for recent graduates in mechanical or chemical engineering, and as a retraining course for industry professionals. In fact, this diversity of the class will also contribute to the learning experience of the students.
