BBC’s newsgathering ops, digital storytelling and the human impact of covering conflict and humanitarian crises

 

Shalu Yadav is South Asia producer with BBC News. In her eight-year long career with BBC, she has covered some of the biggest stories in the region, covering the violence in Kashmir, the 2017 Rohingya crisis and some of the BBC’s most innovative digital storytelling. She is currently leading the training and developing of new digital field teams of BBC’s new Indian language teams: Punjabi, Gujarati, Telugu and Marathi. She is also an award-winning journalist whose work from Kashmir got recognition with Laadli Media Award for reporting from difficult locations. She will be talking about BBC’s newsgathering ops, digital storytelling and the human impact of covering conflict and humanitarian crises. Her talk will also briefly touch the digital ‘Gujarat on Wheels’ project by BBC.
